REFLECTION

When I was in my last semester of Graduation I didn’t know that I want to do B.Ed. I applied in Chandigarh university Delhi university an Lucknow university and IP university for M.Sc and b.ed . I had no idea about any university. From the internet I got all the detail about both courses. In Lucknow entrance. I got 3000 something rank which was not good for getting good college in general category. I cleared Chandigarh university test but my father wanted me to wait for DU and IP university results. I could not give B.ed entrance because both M.Sc and B.ed entrances was held on same day in DU.
The rank I got was 176 in DU for M.Sc which was again not good for general category. But in IP university I got 286 rank but that was good in IP university. So my father decided to do B.ed first. For me teaching was very boring profession same schedule so much responsibility but no rewards.
When council period started I was very confused which college will be good. My father advised me to mention only three colleges first was SCERT, second is BLMCE And third will Maharaja Surajmal college. So I got my second preference which is BLMCE in first round counselling.
In July I came to BLMCE to know the location and way to reach here fast. When I saw this from outside I thought the whole building was of BLMCE but when I entered inside it I was shock that only one floor penthouse apartment type college was there. I didn’t know why I was feeling bad but the structure of BLMCE was like Chandni Chowk’ streets. There was no canteen no ground and all that. But after then I submitted my documents and submit fees.
1st August was a first day of my B.Ed. Course. I was little nervous as It was all new for me. I was roaming for my class then I asked some one where is B.Ed. first class going. She said me to go 101 class room no. then I went there. The class was full of girls and I got seat on last bench. I was just seating quiet and watching everyone. Then there was announcement that we have to go to MPH for orientation. So we went there for orientation.
There was a boy name Abhishek Dubey, he was the first student who talk to me and then Chetna Gangwani we sit together so we talked too much on the first day. Heena Chaudhary mam was there already.  So she told us about syllabus, curriculum, function, Other activities etc. Three consecutive day I was seated at chair in MPH and attended all orientation that was really tough to be seated whole day. I was actually feeling very bore and burden of hearing about lots of assignments and exams for which I was not used to in open learning university. At the end of day I got to know that all student have to participate in function and in all activities all types of activity will be conduct so I was happy to participate in all that.
2nd foundation day and Hawan ceremony was conducted in didn’t expect that but I was happening and I was enjoying that moments. We also came to know about the college History as we were new we don’t know. Each teacher tells us about the work load of their respective subject.
I thought that college is newly started and had good management and regulation in academic and environment. But there was weakness of management of everything in my college. Time table was regularly changing admission process was still in process. Washroom and classes both are not in good condition which was failure of expectation about college.
No library period was scheduling in time table. Everytime I hear that we don’t have so much time we will cover our syllabus at very fast pace. All the CCA activities was managed by students which they practiced just one or two days before the function. Proper time for yoga classes, art classes and practice time for function was not given in our time table which makes our time table hectic and stressful everyday was going in lectures like a child labour to be seated for whole day.
Precious time was spending in special seminars which is all was really great and that is also I didn’t expect to get some good exposure at b.ed college.
Nature of every teacher is really good and cooperative. They understand student problem and allow them to complete work on delay dates. Even some day I got bore in lectures but many time I was really learning something new that was encouraging curiosity to attend all session. College divided students in two different sections, 3 different houses namely Sanskriti, Sabhyta and Sachita and 5 different tutorials.
Competition among houses would be conducted on every Friday. Class representative (CR) was made by students polls. Every house, tutorial and section have 2 CR each. The CCA activities really help us to make bound with other guys, learn leadership qualities, work in group etc.
I expected that only in third semester we will sent to school but in September last college sent us to different school for Preliminary school Engagement. I got Mehta Vidhyalaya it was also under the Bhartiya Vidhya bhawan on the same our college was running. There was 15 student of one college in same school for 20 days. I was very nervous about this how I will handle students continuous thought was going in my mind. Professor oriented us.
It was not according to expectation we thought we got opportunity to observe classroom, infrastructure teaching process but mostly staff didn’t cooperate with us. We maintain their dignity but they ignored us and giving us their work of maintaining class discipline, maintaining school disciplining. All working hours we spent just by doing their responsibilities.
Some teacher complaint about us on using mobile phone and something I thought how much teacher was thinking like a child. Teacher gave us their burden like we were their servants but we all managed this. I thing I got to know that school was just maintaining their outlook image in society by conducting so much functions and activities and mostly time classroom didn’t have teacher to controlled. We treated like hell by school management. But during all this we together managed their work load and took observations of teaching classes as much was possible.
After PSE, coming back to college was seriously a relief of burden but now new burden are waiting for us like of so much presentation, assignments, word doc and seminars of mindfulness and celebrated unity day.
I still don’t know clearly whether teacher is good profession or not but I am continuous learning how to become a good teacher. All the seminars was greatly influenced my mind to think appropriately and in order. In this b.ed course all festivals was celebrated with dignity and teacher worked and delivered their work with comfort. Course is going out of my expectation in both positive and negative way. But I am enjoying all the stress and exposure AND mainly the activities.

NAMRATA MAM.  NAME OF STUDENT: - NAVNEET ROLL NO. 04855602118 I have never had problems with school. As a matter of fact, I would even go so far as to say that I have enjoyed school for the better part of the twenty years or so that I have spent attending it. I cannot help but believe that my cultural background has played a crucial role in shaping my approach to schooling and my expectations of and attitudes toward it. In the remainder of this post, I will explore how my personal background, development as an individual over time, and experiences as a student have influenced my attitude towards education and prompted me to choose teaching Science as a profession. I was raised in New Delhi, India. The first child in the fami...
